About Sherlock

Sherlock is a reserved canine in need of his own emotional support dog. He is looking for his forever home and forever companion. Sherlock is a 6-year-old Long Haired Chihuahua mix, who weighs about 10 pounds and is full grown. He will approach people with bribery (food) but does not enjoy being touched and will quickly retreat. Sherlock will need a patient home that understands he is all about other dogs and does not care for humans. He is good with dogs of all sizes and will need to meet any potential canine companions prior to adoption. Sherlock is also good with cats! He requires his home to have at least 2 hiding spots for his comfort as he adjusts in a new environment. Sherlock also requires a home with a securely fenced backyard, he does not walk well on the leash and loves spending time outside. He will occasionally play with cat toys if they are around but would rather spend most of his days napping and snuggling with his best fur friend. Sherlock may eventually warm up to his humans, but it will take time, and he cannot be rushed, or he will lose progress. Sherlock loves to howl along if he hears another canine and sing along with them as if they were a part of a band. He is a precious boy with quirks who will bring joy from afar and a loving companion to any canines in the home. While here at AZSDR, Sherlock received a dental with a total of 12 teeth extracted. He has learned how to use a doggy door, which will aid in house training. Sherlock is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and has been vetted.
