Oscar is a very gentle family dog but around 1 yr old became very aggressive/protective of home and family when strangers come onto property. He has never hurt anyone, never bitten, nor attacked but does present himself aggressively when strangers are near. He is house broken and gets along very well with other animals as long as they are not aggressive towards him. He's the sweetest boy with his people. I acquired him by default at around 6 months of age, but with certain medical conditions limiting by ability to handle and train him. I also have to move and can find no place that will allow this breed. I am at a loss to know what to do at this point. A large fenced yard or farm, (fencing is very important as pyrs are famous for roaming) possibly with other working dogs to 'show him the ropes', would be ideal. Because of Oscar's human-aggression (stemming from anxiety, I believe) he will need someone well versed in this breed and possibly willing to hire a trainer or behaviorist to work on socializing him.
