About EMMIE

Meet EMMIE, a GORGEOUS, 1-year-old, 34LB Aussie shep mix looking for a loving forever family. She has been in an awesome foster home and they share the following: 'Emmie is doing very, very well. She has settled in over the last month. Emmie now quietly investigates new situations whereas before she barked loudly and would pull at the end of her leash. She is good with other dogs. Emmie is friendly towards cats but is eager to play with them. She does not understand why the feeling is not mutual. She also intently watches neighbor children play. She exhibits only curiosity when watching. It is very likely that she would do well with children and would enjoy a forever family with children-late elementary or middle school age at the youngest. Emmie is very energetic and loving. She knows how to play fetch. She loves to squeak squeaky toys. She loves her crate for it gives her a sense of security. Emmie knows the commands come and sit. She is still quite puppy-like but is eager to learn. Emmie enjoys walking around just squeaking her squeaky toys and surveying her room. Emmie is progressing with her obedience lessons. She knows the commands: come, sit, down -she also knows but still working on off and out commands. But she is eager to learn and to please her 'person'. Emmie enjoys going out and about on walks. She walks well on a leash, only pulling when she gets excited-like when she sees a squirrel. Overall Emmie has made tremendous progress. She does require patience and time. She has lots of energy and needs exercise as well as mental stimulation and engagement for she is very smart. Emmie is a sweet and wonderful girl.'
