About Merida

Hey Everyone!! We are so happy to finally introduce you to the sweetest girl! This is Merida, a 8 year old female blue nose pitbull, and she has been through a lot. She did not ask for the suffering she has endured. She did not ask to be tossed away like garbage. The world let her down. She had been a stray for several months when our sister organization got an urgent message about her. She had been severely attacked by multiple dogs and was in terrible condition. She was infested with fleas and ticks. She had multiple skin infections, was heartworm positive, and her whole body was riddled with puncture wounds. On top of that this poor sweet girl was pregnant. When Mississippi animal hospital brought her in, she had an open gaping wound under her neck that needed extensive surgery to repair. To be honest they did not think she would make it. But she is a fighter! Although she lost her puppies, and had to have extensive surgery she is finally all healed up! A few months later here we are, and we are so happy to finally introduce her to you! She is the sweetest senior you ever did meet. The world has been so cruel to her but you would never know. She is such a goofy, sweet, mushy, and well-behaved doggie. She loves people and is very friendly. She likes other dogs and loves to play. We do not know how she is with kitties but that is something we could test interested. She has been through so much and it is now our mission to find her the best home possible while she is living her best life!! She is currently at our sister organization in Mississippi and available through our pre-adoption program. We do transports to NJ once a month and she can't wait to head north!
