About Amber

Introducing Amber and Angie (short for Angel). Amber and Angie are two sweet siamese mix sisters. They are 14 months old at the end of July. Angie is the Snowshoe and Amber is the flame point. Amber's points are such a delicate apricot that you have to look carefully in the photo to see she also has little white mits like her sister Angie. They are a bonded pair of kittens looking for a forever home together. They were both spayed below 6 months of age and have been chipped, tested negative for FIV/Felv, wormed, de-flead and given their rabies and FVRCP vaccines. They originally were at a shelter in Utah where they were dumped at about 6 months of age when the 'kitten cute' wore off. The shelter split them up and adopted them both out separately, but of course they were grieving for each other and were both soon returned to the shelter for not being friendly or outgoing enough. Seeing them reunited was very touching. Dee was in Utah visiting family for the holidays and she and her husband took them back to Texas in early January aged 7 months. They were traumatised and scared from being moved from pillar to post and we think Amber might have been treated badly or scared by unsupervised children or dogs before she was returned, because she was much more scared after being returned. They have really responded to the love and care they are receiving in their foster home. Angie the snowshoe completely came out of her shell a while ago and loves attention. Amber the flame girl is slower and still easily startled but she continues to improve and loves to play with the wand toy. Ideally their adopter would be understanding of how far they have come (in all ways) and be willing to continue to work with Amber to improve her social skills and see that patience rewarded. They seem to like being around other cats. Both of them have the biggest crush on the adult male siamese in their foster home and act like teenage girls in front of a male pop star!
