About Duke

FOSTERED IN INDY/CAN BE TRANSPORTED TO FORT WAYNE. Meet Duke! This handsome 5-6 year old Boxer/Lab mix male is just the sweetest, happiest boy! Duke was rescued with another dog by a local police department after they had been abandoned in a home for several months. Luckily the dogs had a great group of people come together to save them! Duke is now with us and doing well in his foster home. Duke is good with other dogs but is very independent. He will play if & when he feels like it, otherwise, hes happy as can be lounging on the couch or chewing on his chew bones. Duke has been around cats and is good with them, however he will chase them if they run. Duke has been around children and does well! His only flaw is that sometimes he doesnt realize just how big he is and may accidentally knock down a small child..Duke would be happier as the only dog so he can be the center of attention. Duke absolutely adores his people and loves being with them, especially if they have snacks or back scratches! He is crate trained, housebroken, walks well on a leash, knows several commands and loves riding in the car! Duke has been neutered, vaccinated, heartworm negative (and on monthly preventative) and has been microchipped. Duke has had an ACL repair surgery and has since recovered and has finished his rehab. Duke is now ready for his forever home. Duke's new family will need to be dog savvy and ready to give this boy lots of love and attention! His adoption fee is $200.
