About ALFIE

ALFIE spent his first few years living outside (all year long) tied to a tree with only a flimsy homemade doghouse to protect him from the elements. After a few horrific summer storms and hearing his howls and cries, a new neighbor and good Samaritan reported the owner and ALFIE was surrendered to a high kill shelter, from which Lulu's rescued him then placed him in a local foster home. ALFIE'S first foster report card was awesome stating that ALFIE was doing GREAT, adjusting well to living inside, coming out of his shell and showing himself to be a cuddly, happy, loving pup. Then a week later, we get a shocking note from the foster that are done helping him, they have done their job and they want him rehomed in 2 weeks. His crime: not consistently doing his business outside. WHAT? SO SO UNFAIR. Our dog behaviorist connected with them giving them simple methods to help ALFIE overcome this hiccup but they refused to do so. Instead, they leave a door open and expect him to just go outside to potty whenever he needs to go which he does most of the time. POOR ALFIE is totally confused again and doesn't know what is expected of him. Another human HAS FAILED ALFIE! His rescue is looking for a foster or forever home with a FRIENDLY RESIDENT PUP and a kind, caring dog lover who will use a few simple techniques to reinforce his training. Our trainer will support you in whatever way is needed. MORE ABOUT ALFIE: He is a loving, handsome, super friendly 3 y/o, 28lb Beagle/spaniel mix, a happy pup with a sweet, submissive and laidback nature. He gets along with other dogs and cats too. Alfie is crate and leash trained generally quiet and calm with bursts of happy, playful puppy joy throughout the day. He loves snuggle time, playtime and long walks too.
