About Blueberry

Blueberry is a sweet, energetic, loyal, 3 year old, pure bred Australian Cattle dog, aka. Blue Heeler. He does not have papers. He's fully house trained, knows basic commands (sit, down, stay, wait, leave it, drop it) walks good on a leash, microchipped, neutered and up to date on all vaccines, up to date on heartworm and flea & tick prevention. He's a total goofball and thinks everyone who visits is here to play with him. He loves to play with other dogs and is ok with cats. He loves kids but does try to 'herd' them by nipping at their feet. The reason for rehoming is because we rescued a St Bernard several months ago who for some reason viciously attacks him every chance he gets. We have tried everything we can to rectify the situation, including having a behaviorist come to our home to try and help us and nothing has worked. I love this dog and it's breaking my heart to have to rehome him but we see no other choice other than putting the saint down. He's got a good amount of energy, but loves a good, long nap too. He's super smart, as cattle dogs are, and it only takes a couple minutes of practice to learn a new command. He's super fast and would be great at agility. I would like his new home to be with someone who's experienced with the breed as he does have a lot of breed specific tendencies such as nipping at feet and being protective of his people. He loves to chase balls and play keep away too. He would do best in a fenced yard. A home and vet check is required for any potential adopter. I also will require a contract be signed stating that if for any reason he needs to be rehomed again, I will be contacted first. I love him very much and the last thing I want is for him to be shifted from home to home.
