About Riley

We rescued Riley's mom, she was an abused dog. By the time we rescue her we found out she have had a puppy so we adopt her as well, that's our Riley. They had a very good first year, Riley had a 'normal' personality, was really good with dogs and people. The mom was the one with harder time to get along but nothing to really worry about. Until one day, playing outside with a ball with both of the dogs, as usual, the mom flipped out and attacked Riley, she defend herself. It was a really bad encounter, my husband ended op with a lot of cuts in hands and arms trying to break them apart. We had to give the mom in adoption, and we decided to keep Riley because she just tried to defend herself. Since that day she changed, wasn't as playful as she was before, she barks at dogs or people that doesn't know but she has never ever try to bite or attack. If we have people over the house we try to introduce her to the person and tell her that she/he is good and is out friend or family, and she is totally fine and calm. We have a toddler in house and she is very good with her, she doesn't really pay much attention to her and we have never had any problem at all even though she plays close to her. Although, we are always paying attention and we teach our toddler to respect Riley's space. Sometimes she gets a little weird about moving around the house, like scared to slide on the floor, is kind of cute to watch her move on those days. Riley has a condition in her bottom eye lids, they go in instead of out so that makes her eyes a little red and somewhat teary. She is still very calm but she loves attention and being pet or even laying by your feet or close by makes her happy. She would kiss you every second of her day if you'd let her and also she would protect you with her life. She is potty trained. Because of our family situation it has become harder and harder for us to give her the life, the time, the attention she deserves. We love her very much and we've been postponing this for a few years trying our best to make it fairly work for her and us. But we think this is the next step, we don't have any rush and we are going to take our time to find her a good, patient and lovely home.
