About Sookie

Sookie is a 1-2 yr old petite Great Dane. She's 85 lbs of sass, spunk, snuggles & energy. She needs a family willing to set boundaries & expectations since she's still a puppy at heart. She's learned to sit & wait before going out any door. Now we are working on her not shooting out of the crate like a rocket. She's smart but a tad stubborn & easily distracted. She knows many commands & most of the time is happy to please but can get excited & distracted. She is crate trained but isn't a huge fan. She will need to be crated when no one is home to keep her out of typical puppy trouble. She needs a family home more often than not. A full day in her crate leaves too much orbit ip energy & anxiety. When you're home, she's happy to chill on the couch with you. She will be all up in your space if you allow her to but will respect you if you ask her for space. She housebroken. She's good with other dogs but can be pushy in the home. She'd be great as only dog with visits to dog park, play dates and/or doggy daycare. Cats unknown. She's good with kids but due to her bounciness kids in home need to be 8yrs & older unless the children are experienced with giant breed dogs. She's spayed & UTD on vaccinations & preventatives. She's currently in a foster home in the Nashville TN area. We do adopt out of state but require adopters to travel to pick up their dog from the foster home.
