Rhett (originally named Eastwood) was dumped by his owner because he picked up kennel cough and they didn't want to take him to a vet for what was a simple fix. They dumped him at a high-kill rural shelter in Central CA who didn't treat him either. A volunteer there asked us for help in saving his life when he was down to his last few days, as nobody wanted to adopt a dog with a cold. So we rescued him, he's been on meds for just a couple of days and is already SOOOO much better! Almost killed for a simple cold which is pennies to treat-what is wrong with people?? This little guy (only 10 months old) is super affectionate, is learning fast (knows sit and stay) and is already neutered and ready to be adopted. We would like to treat him for one more week before he goes into a home of his own, but aside from that he is ready! The rescue is offering a $50 credit to the person who adopts this dog if you register him through the rigorous obedience training course at Pet Village in Salem-they are the best, and they know the German Shepherd breed very well! He loves the water (swims like a lab) and talks like any good husky. A great combination, husky and shepherd. Let's get this boy a home that will really care for him like he deserves! Yes, he is a deep red and white-gorgeous!
