About Hootie

*PLEASE READ HOOTIE'S ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS THOROUGHLY BEFORE INQUIRING* thank you Hootie is a real hoot! Honestly, this boy is the funniest and cutest thing ever! Hootie is an approximately 5 year old Pekingnese at about maybe 12lbs. He came to us from owners who had to relocate to back east and couldn't take him with them. It's ok, because we know how perfect Hootie is and the right home is out there for him somewhere. Hootie is a dog that can coexist with other dogs but he really prefers people over pups. He sometimes gets a little grumbly with dogs in his space but can be corrected easily. He would not be good in a home with puppies, high energy dogs, or dogs that want to play with him because that just isn't his thing. This sweet boy MUST have a home with a yard and owners who are not gone long hours during the day or can take him everywhere with them. We are also looking for prior Peke owners for this special boy! He loves to snuggle, cuddle, and just sit by your side but also can be independent and not needy. Hootie is a dog that will need grooming every 2 months to keep his coat healthy and comfortable. Hootie, because of his breed needs to be in a cooler type climate or a home with a/c. As you can see in the video, this California boy LOVES the water and we mean absolutely loves the water!! You cannot even water your plants without Hootie jumping through the water mist. He CANNOT go into a home with an uncovered pool because he might get the urge to jump in and Pekingnese are not known for their swimming abilities. Hootie should not be in a home with children younger than 12 years old because although he is a friendly guy, he is grumbly and should not be held and picked up by little ones. Hootie is a cutie who just needs a happy ever after! WE ONLY ADOPT IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA AS A HOME CHECK AND 1-2 WEEK TRIAL PERIOD IS REQUIRED.
