About Annabelle

Annabelle is 3 yr old American Pitbull Terrier mix. Her color is a beautiful deep grey/blue. Annabelle is very spunky and loves a kitty pool. She also enjoys pets and will literally role into you when really digging scratches around her ears. Annabelle is always up for fun!!! When she sees someone she knows she will run to the front of her kennel and wag her tail in hopes she will be taken out. This year, Annabelle was at the Maricopa County Animal Care and Control for several months before she was adopted off of the e-list. After a couple months her former adopter took her to a local boarding facility stating that she would be there temporarily until he found a place for them to live. Within a couple weeks he stopped visiting Annabelle and also stopped paying the boarding fee. That was over 2 months ago. Annabelle is still waiting for him to take her home :(. She is rarely given reprieve from her kennel as the staff at the facility are very busy. Volunteers will stop by the facility a couple times per week to let her out but that is not even certain. I don't think Annabelle has ever known how to be a family dog. She doesn't know how to play fetch, in fact is not really into toys/balls, and does not know basic commands like 'sit'. In her dog evaluation many months ago she was found to be very dominant with the other dogs and rough and rowdy. As time went on in the shelter she became more reactive and was said she should be an only dog. Currently, Annabelle is not reactive to other dogs in the kennels and shows an interest in playing when dogs are in the play yard beside hers. Annabelle should probably be an only dog during her decompression period, however, its possible that she will be able to co-exist with other dogs in the future.
