About Len

Meet Len.....what a heartbreaker! Len's journey started about 8ish years ago...and it's been a bumpy road. A heartbreaking journey. Len says life was good with his dad until he was deployed to Afghanistan. They loved to play and have cuddle time. Life was good. Then dad went away for 'a little while'....and he was left with an older couple who would care for him for that ....'little while'...but the days dragged on...and the little while turned into a forever. Dad didn't make it back from Afghanistan. The older couple who were caring for Len kept him and he got very attached to his new mom. Then mom got sick...and 'went away'...and he didn't see mom anymore. Now Len just had a dad again. Everything was great until the nurses started to arrive one day at the house. Dad didn't get out of bed anymore...and there were no more 'goodies' dropped from the table. The goodies were replaced with crates and shock collars. Big dogs started staying often...and Len was not liked much by the big dogs....or the nursing staff. Life had changed again. For the worst. .....and then one day there was a car ride. Len arrived here to the rescue with lots of scabs from 'wounds'...and a torn, but healed, ear. Len's story was shared with the rescue by the man's granddaughter. And so....We went to work loving him back together. Len has had a bumpy road. We are looking for a home for Len that has lots of love and patience to give a guy. He's come a long way...and he knows what a home is. He'll thrive in one. We are hopeful that maybe a veteran will step up for him...but it's not a requirement. The requirement is ... love. Len is vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, crate trained, and most likely housebroken.
