About Reuben

Reuben is a very sweet loving young boy. He is full of energy and will love unconditionally his forever Mom. Somewhere in Reuben's past there was suspected abuse from a male. I have had him only a week but he is so attached to me it's unlike anything I have seen. The problem is that he won't let anyone touch him so I cant get a wellness check or his nails clipped (they are really bad he has clawed me accidentally while he has been playing but it still hurts :) ) He also can't seem to remember my brother is in the house and everytime my brother moves around the house Reuben barks uncontrollably and postures as if he is going to bite. Also Reuben is so young that he doesn't realize that my 15 y/o chihuahua is not trying to play with him. He is super smart, learned the doggy door in one day, he learned the command 'take it nice' so that he doesn't bite my hand off when he gets treats. He sits on command and is learning 'Give or Drop' in regards to his toys, and how to walk on his lead better. He likes to ride in the car and likes getting a bath, I can't keep him out of the tub or swimming pool LOL. He has not chewed anything of mine since I have had him which is impressive since he has not been crated for several days now (he is crate trained) for several hours at a time while I am at work (since I was concerned about my brother's safety until they were properly introduced) He is a really good sweet boy and I can't bear having to take him back to the shelter. Please someone (a lady with a heart of gold) take my Reuben and love on him like he deserves.
