About Magpie

Magpie is a spayed female Redbone Coonhound/German shepherd dog mix born around 2/20/2016 She weighs about 70 pounds. Magpie is a sweet and friendly hound, who had a loving family which moved away and left her behind. She lived with children and has been very patient with children in her foster home. This girl is looking for a family to love. She is a big fan of the hamburger drive through window. Want to take a ride with her? Magpie would be happy as a hobby farm dog. She would help with chores and then settle in for a nap. She is currently fostered on a hobby farm and has been very good about not running off. She is not a hug fan of fences and prefers a cable runner. When moved to, she can jump a six-foot fence and then will hang out in the front yard. She is a pretty skilled rabbit hunter, so should not be in a home with small pets. This girl does not ask for much, and is easy to get on with. When she is excited to see a person, she puts her head up and barks for joy. She loves her meal time. Magpie is enjoys a long walk. Once she has her outing, she is happy to stretch out on the wall-to-wall and snooze the day away. Magpie has a friendly, cheerful personality none can resist! In her foster home, she has done well with the people she has met. Magpie has been dog social but does not like to be pushed around by other dogs. She will stand up for herself if challenged. Her front legs show multiple scars indicative of dog or coyote attack where she had to defend herself in her original home. Magpie is leash trained, crate trained, and is intelligent. The adoption fee is $225 and includes microchip, deworming, vaccinations, flea and tick treatment and spay. Currently Magpie lives in a foster home in Polk County, NC.
