About Kizzy

Adoption Fee: $395
Australian Shepherd
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

MEET KIZZY: a gorgeous 6.5 month old female Black tricolor Australian shepherd with a strong herding instinct. She's a typical unstoppable, curious young Aussie with a unique half black - half white face and a beautiful tale. She's up to date on her vaccinations, dewormed, spayed, house & crate trained. She's very loving, sweet and playful, extremely bright and motivated, energetic, learns quickly and wants to be your friend forever. Her ideal person/family has the deep understanding and experience of the herding breed, able to provide strong leadership while patiently teaching her all the tricks they can imagine. She does have separation anxiety, but does well with another dog in the home. HISTORY: Kizzy was rescued by ASF from euthanasia at the age of 4 months with a right hind leg injury. ASF provided her with a proper nutrition, much needed medical care and a nurturing foster home. While ASF worked with orthopedic veterinarians, Kizzy slowly started to walk, then run & jump, and now has an undeniable prognosis of good quality of life. She has 4 well-functioning legs. She grew up very quickly and now weighs about 35 lbs but still has a puppy mindset as she jumps and nibbles when she plays so please no small children or unsteady adults. We don't know about cats/small pets, but she herds her foster parents and fur siblings no matter the size. In her foster home she was exposed to older dogs and received some canine manners/training, so she will be a good addition to a small/medium pack. One slightly older other dog of similar size would be a perfect playmate. Her adopters need to continue with her leash and obedience training. We also noticed that she is fond of men (especially her foster father).
