About Madden

Meet Madden! This handsome guy is approximately 5-6 years old. He has a personality as big as his big blockhead. Madden came to his foster home in Central NY from ACCT Philly shelter where he looked and felt absolutely miserable. He was covered in sores all over his body and his skin was raw and infected. Now that Madden has spent a month in his foster home recovering, he is growing in new fur, looks and feels amazing! Madden is truly a 'unicorn' dog. He is great with dogs of all sizes and would not mind living with cats. He is an extremely friendly dog who loves everyone that he meets! He is a big dog, weighing in at 74.4 lbs and could use some work in the leash manners department. He is very strong and will need an adopter who can handle his size and work with him on his leash manners. Madden knows some basic manners such as sit and down, and even knows some tricks! He will speak on command, sit pretty for you, and shake when asked. He is house trained, crate trained, and non-destructive when left alone. He is gentle when taking treats and he loves to snuggle up with you on the couch. Madden's skin is still in progress of healing and he will need an adopter who will continue medicated baths 3x a week until his fur has completely grown in. This is a slow process and we wish we knew how long it would take but we can tell you that he is completely worth the little bit of extra work! Madden is truly a one of a kind dog! Do you have dogs, no problem! Cats, no big deal! Children, Madden would be cool with that! This big guy can't wait to be part of someone's family. All of our animals are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and treated if necessary.
