About Bella

Bella is a rescue from a shelter. We connected immediately as our eyes met. She is about 3 years old, is house trained, crate trained and will do almost anything for a little treat or a good belly-rub or scratch behind her velvety tan ears. She walks well on a leash, but does need to wear a harness on walks because if a truck comes near she can wriggle out of her collar and run home! She loves people, affection and chew toys. Bella loves to please, will wait patiently for her food to be set down and usually has a good appetite, but does not typically over-eat. She loves to fetch, play ball, walk and run in the sun! She is a tender and gentle 65 lb. 'lapdog' who loves to snuggle and watch movies or sit and watch me work on the computer. She has been good with other dogs and people when out on walks. She has been with me for about 2 years and has been a wonderful and loyal companion. She adapted well when I brought home her 'brother,' also a rescue who is about a year younger. She and Brindle play well together, love to tug on ropes and chew toys, and run through the yard to protect me from vicious squirrels and birds! At times they can get jealous of my attention and see who can get in my lap first. This became more frequent when Brindle passed her in weight and height. They are easily distracted and redirected, however. I recently had a slight stroke and do not have the energy or ability to continue working and providing adequate exercise for my 'little ponies.' They are sending too many hours in crates and not getting the activity they need to thrive. I desperately need to find them a home that will love them (they don't necessarily need to be together) and care for them. Bella has been a beautiful companion for me through some difficult times and I know she has the love to share with another family! Thank you.
