About Brindle

Adoption Fee: $50
Catahoula / German Shepherd
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Brindle was rescued from a shelter a little over a year ago, he was just days from being put down. He was about 40 lbs and I was told he was pretty much full-grown. He now tips the scales at 90-95 lbs, depending on his exercise. We estimate the he is now about 2 years old. He is neutered and has had good medical preventative care. His DNA report shows that he is leopard catahoula/german shepherd/great dane. He is a beautiful animal. He adapted well with my white lab mix (also a rescue from a kill-shelter) who is about a year older and weighs about 65 lbs. They both like to be dominate and both like to be lap dogs. They play well together, love to chew toys and bones, and they walk well together on a lead. Brindle can look mean, has a very big baritone bark, but is the sweetest and most affectionate dog I have ever had. Is is house trained, crate trained and loves treats and affection. He is a good with most dogs, protects me from squirrels and stray cats. I need to find him a good home ASAP because I have just had a small stroke. Because of my work schedule (teacher) and need to regain strength I cannot walk him adequately and he spends too much time in his crate. He would do well in an active home with someone who can play games, take brisk walks and provide good treats! I am also looking for a new forever home for my lab, Bella. They do not necessarily need to be together, but I desperately need to find a loving home for my two little 'ponies.' Their love and affection has seen me through some very difficult times and now I need to let them love another family now.
