Georgia is a sweet miniature schnauzer. We inherited her when her owner passed away three years ago. Since that time she has become blind. When we got Georgia she was extremely nervous/anxious. Because she hadn't been around much activity, she would quiver at everything. For the most part she only spent time with her owner. She has improved so much in that regard. She is used to a lot of commotion as we have a large family. She is not good about using the bathroom outside. If you take her out every two-three hours and make sure that she's fully emptied then she does okay. She also has a couple of lipomas, but they have not caused her any issues yet. The only other negative is that she barks uncontrollably when people come to the door. We have been able to manage this somewhat by putting her on a leash, but you can't always predict when people are coming. Outside of those problems Georgia is a very good tempered dog. She is obedient to come and stay most of the time, but has lost consistency with other commands since becoming blind. We used hand signals for sit, lay, roll-over etc. We are sad that we have to find Georgia a new home, but our life situation has made giving her the time and attention she needs very difficult. Georgia would be perfect for someone who has time for a loving companion. She loves to follow me around and sit at my feet.
