About Benji

Introducing Benji! He is a 1 year old, 11.8 pound beautiful Spaniel mix who was owner surrendered as he was too active for his older owner. He is a very active and fun little dog! Once he knows you, he is very friendly and playful with lots of licking. He's always happy to see you and he's a cuddly lap dog when he's tired. Benji would be great as an only dogs or with other dogs, although he can be slightly dominant with other dogs. He has not been cat or kid tested. He is still in his puppy stage and, like any puppy, needs some basic training. He is housebroken, but does not always enjoy going outside. He needs to be walked out on a leash. Benji likes to sleep on furniture, but can sometimes be convinced to sleep in a doggie bed! He will bark when he sees something unfamiliar, but it's regular dog barking, nothing excessive. Benji is initially scared in new situations and with new people. He will look to a familiar person for comfort, but once he gets to know you he is an unstoppable play machine. He loves to sit near or on people he knows. He enjoys a squeaky toy from time to time. Benji has a moderate to high amount of energy. If you play with him he will wear you out but if you leave him alone he is content to sleep on your couch and calmly explore the house. Benji is up to date on shots, heartworm negative, and microchipped with a lifetime registration. His neuter is scheduled soon and is covered by the rescue. Benji is an adorable little guy that anyone is sure to love!
