About Dolce

Imported from Germany. Raised with ALL types of farm animals (poultry, cats, other dogs, horses, cattle, goats, etc.) and children. Does great with all except any dog that tries to challenge her - she is the Alpha. I've had to move and she really needs more space. I would prefer that she go to someone who either has a farm or is an active single person (or perhaps couple with no children) that will take her out on adventures and spoil her. She loves being active (hiking, working on a farm, etc.), but can be somewhat sensitive to the heat (a lot of brachycephalic dogs are). For this reason and others, she is to be an INSIDE PET ONLY with access to clean water and climate control. I put that she's 'not good with children' because some children are not good with animals and I can't promise what her tolerance to mistreatment might be. I have six children and she's been raised with all of them in very close proximity (ALWAYS inside with us), but I also do not allow my children to climb on, poke, pinch, or otherwise harass my animals, so I will not guarantee that if 'Little Johnny' smacks her with a stick, she will not bite 'Little Johnny.' She is also food-aggressive, so I feed her in a quiet area where she won't be disturbed. She's extremely loyal to her 'person' (me), so she will attach to the right owner, but she really should have someone with experience with dominant dogs. As with ANY large animal, care should be taken when bringing her around children, other dogs, or strangers. She growled at a man once (I am a woman) because she sensed he had bad intentions toward me. If you have any questions, please text or email. Thank you.
