About Trooper

Beagle
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Trooper is 5 years old and weighs 30 lbs but can afford to gain some extra weight. He is a tall, slender guy and still catching up on the food he was deprived of before being rescued. Hence his name, has been quite the trooper! He was rescued with several lacerations and open wounds, possibly being attacked by something. This super sweet guy has a special need in which he has a small tic/movement of his mouth and has limited movement of his tongue. It looks like he has constant hiccups. This doesn't slow him down a bit though! Trooper loves to play, cuddle and gets along with the pack, but prefers female dogs over males. He prefers to play with larger dogs and would love a female larger dog companion. He's a bit curious about kitties, but will cry like a big baby if swatted by one. Due to the nerve damage that causes Troopers tic and less movement of his tongue, he requires some assistance when eating, or a very deep bowl. He can eat on his own if the bowl is deep with a lot of food to grab, though it may take him a little longer to finish. Or he can be hand-fed which he is very gentle and easy to feed. Trooper loves walks and all people, including kids! He has the personality to be your best friend immediately! His ideal family will be one that is accepting of his special need and enjoys an active, playful life with him.
