About POPPY

If you have a soft spot for the hard-to-place and handicapped, Poppy would love to meet you!!! Poppy is a sassy and very attractive approximately 18mo old torbie. Rescued from the County shelter before being e-listed, Poppy needs a special home with a savvy pet owner and older children only. She is selective about other cats, but seems fine with medium and larger dogs, and has acclimated well in her foster's home where there are both. She is blind in one eye but doesn't let that stop her. The vet says that with minimal care her eye should not have to be removed. He believes she was born that way. She has a slight depth perception issue (will fall off furniture while walking) but manages with just one eye well. Poppy can be quirky. On occasion she gets upset or overstimulated and will attempt to bite but a savvy owner will watch for the signals and if she does it is very light. She is very vocal prior and will let you know when she's had enough attention. For that reason, we recommend no small children in the home. All in all, Poppy has a lot of personality and is very much loved and enjoyed by her foster family.
