**Owner Surrender Disclaimer: These are blind and visually impaired dogs who are living in homes, but their owners can no longer keep them. These dogs are with their owners, and are not in BDRA foster homes. We do our best to screen these dogs, but make no guarantees regarding the information posted.** Please email [email protected] if you are interested in this sweetheart. Please know that we will ask for a vet reference. Name: Sheba Age: 7 years Breed: MIx Sex: Female (spay) Location: State College, Pa Vet Info: Sheba is UTD (3 August 2019) with vaccines. No HW test. Confirmed spayed. Was prescribed Timolol .05 for high eye pressure. Might need to have eyes removed if pressure not improved. As per current caretaker: 'The vet said she is completely blind. She saw a mobile vet for a virus which they think caused the blindness. She's been blind for about a year. When we took her to the vet within the last month, they said she has glaucoma. She is currently on eye drops twice a day to help with the eye pressure.' Owner Info: Sheba's owner recently died and the children are looking to re-home Sheba. Sheba is described as an indoor dog with the run of the house. She is house broken and uses a doggy door which accesses a fenced yard. Sheba is described as outgoing, good with teenagers adults and cats. Sheba lived with a cat at one point, but the cat has passed away. Sheba's current owner reports 'She (Sheba) didn't get along with our dog but our dog is the female alpha dog and Sheba only defends herself. Now, with her being blind she uses her sense of smell and when she smells another dog or animal she goes up to it. As long as the other animal is not aggressive to her, she doesn't feel like she needs to defend herself. She (Sheba) has defended herself against our dog. I think each dog had broken skin on each other on their ears.' The current owner feels that 'She (Sheba) would adapt to a new environment as long as things didn't keep moving or relocating in a house for example (rearranging furniture)'|Our hopes are to find a loving home with maybe a retired couple that would be able to spend time with her and give her the love she deserves. She enjoys car rides and sticking her head out the window.'
