About Hera

Adoption Fee: $25
Rottweiler / German Shepherd
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

About 1 1/2 years ago two humans (mom and daughter) rescued me (Rotty/German Shepherd blend) and my bonded-mate Cronus (Chow/Leonberger blend). After fostering us for only a few weeks they made the decision to adopt us. Ironically my humans believe we saved their lives, but the truth is the four of us saved each other. After all the tragedy that my human have been through in the last few years (I will leave it to them to share their story with you) I wish I can say 'we all lived happily ever after'. However life is not always like a fairy tale. To no fault of my humans we are now looking for a new home. One of the qualities our humans like best about us is the true love between me and my bonded-mate Cronus. Our humans tell us that this kind of love is rare and they wish more humans were like us, always looking out for each other. Even when we sleep we always have a point of contact between us. Many times that results in Cronus' butt in my face, but I still love him. A few things about me and Cronus... We never destroy anything, very much house trained, and do not require crating even if you are gone for 9-10 hours. In the morning we head out for a bathroom break, eat, and then hang out together (usually sleeping) until you get home. I then wag my tail and prefer to give you lots of kisses. We usually move to a second feeding and then a walk. Cronus is very efficient when it comes to elimination, but I prefer a short walk to get things moving. Psst...Do you hate cats? We do. I can also get nervous around other dogs that act aggressive since me and Cronus had to survive by ourselves prior to entering the shelter. So when we go for walks just keep an eye out for those hairballs and redirect us, preferably with cookies. We believe cookies can solve almost any dog-related issues. For example, Chows are lazy and Cronus is part Chow so if you want him to go for a walk, you guessed it, cookies. I wish cookies could solve human issues don't you? Do you have a CPAP? Psst...Cronus snores too which can not be solved with a cookie, but I love him anyway. I find it endearing and fitting since he looks like a big 'ol bear/lion. You would not guess that from the horrible picture my human posted. It makes Cronus look like some overgrown Shar-Pei. Being sophisticated dogs we do not require toys, but we do come with all doggy essentials: leash, collar, rabbies tag, brush/comb, bed, pillow (Cronus thing:), and of course lots of unconditional love for you. We can not stay with our humans past early January so we hope to hear from you really soon. Please give us a chance.
