About Tilly

Tilly is part of our Home to Home program. Tilly was adopted from Adopt-A-Dog several years ago and unfortunately her family has to re-home her. They write: 'Tilly is loyal, independent, and intelligent. She's also the cutest thing ever with the tiniest ears and an underbite. Tilly is honestly the best dog I have ever walked. Not only does she love being out and about, but she can keep up. She does not pull and she is her happiest on a stroll around the neighborhood. Speaking of which, take her anywhere. She is amazing in the car and is the best passenger. She's also a blast to take to Home Depot because everyone gets a kick out of how adorable she is. Tilly is also equally as content laying around the house. She is not a cuddler by default, but you will feel so loved when she wants to be right on you, or puts her head on your feet. While she loves her independence, you may find that when you leave one room, she will be right behind you. She is watchful and inquisitive and you can truly feel her adoration for her humans. She is highly treat motivated and will learn quickly for something good. She knows all of her commands and is housebroken. One of our favorite games is to hide treats and say 'where is it?!' As she searches the house for goodies. She is not yappy by nature, but is reactive to fireworks and thunderstorms. As a result, we have worked with trainers and her veterinarian to place her on Prozac to deal with her anxiety. While this has helped, she still struggles during storms and fireworks. We have worked to crate train her during these times and she will be much happier with a kong filled with some treats in a quiet, dark space. Adopt-a-dog in Armonk is where we originally adopted Tilly and they have helped us tremendously. They also offered to operate as a liaison and be a continuous source of support of Tilly should you have additional needs. We will ALWAYS provide support for Tilly and have already made it known that should a person ever choose to bring her back, we will always foster her in the meantime. This dogs well-being is what I need for her and our home is no longer providing that for her. Tilly is in perfect physical health and up to date on all shots.'
