About Bear

Adoption Fee: $300
Pit Bull / American Staffordshire Terrier
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

Bear is an approximately 4 1/2 year old, 70 lb beautiful brindle-colored boy with the softest, most velvety coat. Bear had been adopted but came back to us as he didn't adjust well to the new baby in the home. He was fearful of the baby and protective of the owners. So he'll need someone who can provide leadership, structure, set rules and boundaries. He has been in a 6-week board and train where he did very well. Bear is initially very timid with people but will open up quickly in a home environment. He's most comfortable with other dogs so he MUST go to a home with another friendly dog his size, calmer female preferred. Bear has a quiet and calm nature, walks well on leash, knows several commands, takes treats gently, absolutely loves his crate, and enjoys nature walks. Bear has the biggest head but we know it's tiny compared to the size of his heart. Bear is funny, loving, loves to play fetch, chew on his bones, give you his paw, and lay down for tummy rubs. He has lived with several female dogs and did wonderful. He ignored our cats and chickens and doesn't have much of a prey drive so should do well with them with slow introductions. Bear is not the kind of dog that will capture your heart at a first meet and greet, but he will make you earn his love by showing him patience, love and respect. He has won our hearts and we know there's someone out there who is ready to be won over by his gentleness and loving demeanor as well. If you're interested in a meet and greet, please go to our website and fill out an adoption application www.wallflowersshine.com/application. No meets will be held without an application on file.
