About Kiska

Adoption Fee: $75.00
German Shepherd
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

I need to find a good home for a dog of mine. Her name is Kiska and she's a full blooded Black German Shepherd. She could be Registered with the AKC but I never went through with it, and she comes from a line of Police Dogs. When I bought her my plan was to breed her and sell the puppies. However, at 8 months we believe a neighbor of ours shot at her (maybe in fear because she was black and big) and one bullet hit her left leg. I tired to have it save but the damage was so bad they had to amputate. Since she became 3 legged dog, I didn't think it right or fair to continue on and breed her. Kiska is about 8.5, she's really good with Kids, Goats, Cats, Sheep, Chickens, Ducks and small dogs. Being black she can look intimidating to people but she's a really SMART and sweet dog. I really hate having to give her up but she getting older and we have two other big dogs that keep getting into fights with her. Dog fights are never good. Today the two took after her again. So, I've had it and now I'm trying to find her a good home. I'm sure it's a pecking order thing but it never seems to get fully resolved and I don't want to see her getting hurt. It's to much in Kiska that she want's to be the lead dog over the other two and she physically can't be. She gets along fine with our little Heeler and Collie but not our 2 Pyrenees mixes. I'm hoping that she can find a good, quite home, where she can take center stage like she deserves. She's been wonderful and has done a heck of a job taking care of our home, family and livestock.
