Allergies Prescription Medication: Vetalog, 1 tablet every other day Prescription Food: Royal Canin Selected Protein Salem's journey to wellness began on June 19, 2018. He was found as a stray with a horrible skin infection that left him almost completely hairless. It was first thought to be a flea allergy, but after flea medication and antibiotics, Salem showed little improvement. He was taken to an allergy specialist in Jacksonville where it was determined that he is allergic to cedar trees, dogs, and pesky cockroaches, just to name a few. Because keeping him in a bubble was out of the question, he was started on steroids. Through trial and error, our veterinarian has found the minimum dose to keep Salem comfortable and itch-free. He has been in our care for over a year and is loved by so many. He even takes weekend trips to the condo with one of our beloved fosters. Alas, the time has come for Salem to find a permanent home. We must admit it makes us a little sad to think of him leaving, but we know it's for the best. Salem will need to be kept indoors for the rest of his life. Because he is allergic to dogs, a dog-free home would be ideal. He will also need to remain on his prescribed medication and prescribed food. Salem is neutered, current on core vaccines, microchipped, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. If you are interested in adopting this very special boy, please email [email protected].
