About Ember

There's nothing quite like young energy and silliness...and then they lie quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm doggie breath. These dogs are so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think that they're homeless in New Mexico without any options available. A very kind and compassionate foster took Ember into her home to prevent her from the horrors of life on the streets. Her foster immediately fell in love with this very kind and sweet pup. She realized that the greatest gift she could give this beautiful girl was a transport to Colorado where she would be given every possibility for a great life. Farfel's Rescue was told about the great personality and over- the- top beauty of this special pup and made the decision to help Ember find her first ever forever family. She deserves a respectful and loving family just as much as any other sweet dog with a great temperament (she passed her temperament testing with flying colors..she's truly a star!) Ember, at just about 18 months old and a petite 29 lbs, found herself homeless and without options in New Mexico.This sweet and engaging Labrador Retriever..with a touch of Fox Terrier in the mix to attain the smaller size that's so desirable with adopters was ready and longing for a committed family. These dogs are the perfect size for both hiking, cuddling and just spending time with their people. We're seeing more and more of these crosses that are so popular for their much smaller size, gorgeous, cottony-soft coats that are so sleek and shiny and their very engaging/loving personalities. Ember is an excellent ambassador for this very loving mutt mix. Her gorgeous looks and dark eyes filled with so much wisdom are irresistible. Her sweetness and silly and very fun-loving personality is perfect for a family dog and best friend. Ember's temperament testing was excellent and ended with a transport ticket to Colorado and a wonderful new life. Ember is appropriately playful and inquisitive for her age. She's also bright and so sweet (loves to cuddle in your lap-but watch out..young energy may call). Since Ember is a young, very happy girl, she's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show her the way. She has all the potential in the world to be an awesome companion. Ember will form firm bonds with her family (as well as other dogs and humans) and learn positive socialization skills through being exposed to many different situations out in the world. Group obedience level 1 classes are a great start for any dog (Farfel's is happy to supply a list of pre-approved positive reinforcement trainers in your area). It does take a bit of time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you in the outside world with consistently excellent behavior. We're very open to Ember finding her forever home with active retirees who have the time and desire to love and work with a young dog. A family with gentle, dog-loving kids who have a desire to participate in training is perfect for Ember. She'd be their very best friend and loyal companion.
