About RANGER-1 - $300

Adoption Fee: $300
Black Mouth Cur mix
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Male

RANGER was saved with his three siblings from a high kill shelter in Texas where dogs have just 3 dogs to be saved and transported to the rescue in Sebec, Maine. RANGER is neutered, rabies core vaccines, de-wormed, monthly preventatives and micro-chipped. He has an estimated date of birth of 29 May 2019 and at the time of rescue in the end of August 2019, weighed around 10.00 pounds, he has obviously grown since then. The shelter has a breed listing of Retriever / Hound Mix, however, we have no way of knowing the exact breed, it is up to individuals to decide what breed they think is most likely. RANGER is a puppy and would be best suited to a family who has another dog or other animals and be willing to ensure he has lots of socialization with other dogs and is willing to take training very seriously. He will be coming up to the age where he will be teething and chewing on anything and everything. A patient family who understands he is a baby and needs to learn and knows that having a puppy is a LOT of WORK. RANGER since being at the rescue has been doing great, he has gained some much needed weight and obviously grown and looks like he is going to be a big, strong boy. He is going to need an active family who has the lifestyle that can keep him not just mentally stimulated and of course physically active as he grows. He is fun and loving and loves playing, wrestling and chasing with the other dogs and pups. He uses the dog door to go out and play and do his business, but he doesn't know to let you know he wants to go outside and so house training is to be expected. He has not been around children since being at the rescue, but I have no doubt that if treated with respect and gently and given his space when he needs it there will be no problems at all. He is a puppy and the family and environment he grows up in will mould his behaviour and personality. Ranger is a hound mix and it is very important that you are familiar, or make yourself familiar with the breed, although, as a mix he might not have any or all of the traits of a hound, but there is a good chance he will and it is imperative that you are aware and comfortable with the hound characteristics. WE ARE NOT ABLE TO COMMENT HOW SHE WILL BE AROUND CATS OR LIVESTOCK. RANGER is available for adoption for an adoption fee of US $550. A $100 will be applied if adopting two pups / dogs. This fee is not negotiable and is used to cover the rescue costs of pulling, vetting, health certificate, transport from Texas to Maine, monthly preventatives, supplements, food, general day to day cost of running a brick and mortar rescue and anything else that is needed. Canadian adopters need to know that customs charge 15% taxes when entering into Canada.
