Buckley is a purebred Great Dane who is such a loving boy to our family. His best friend is a female cat and sleeps in our daughters bed nightly. He loves to snuggle with us on the couch, which is his preferred location most of the day. If the weather is right he will wander our property and check on the neighbor dogs (he does not bark at them but is curious to know what they're up to). Some behaviors that are difficult for us: Before we adopted Buckley, his prior owner also had a smaller dog who was dominant and nipped at his hind legs. Because of this we believe he has some protection issues. Anytime he is on-leash and we come near another dog he goes ballistic. He barks and pulls with all his might to get close to the other dog. If my wife is walking him and the other dog is dominant, like has happened before, his strength is too much. Because of this my wife doesn't trust taking him out for walks, which is unfortunate because he loves them. It also seems like he has some anxiety issues because he often chatters his teeth. We have attempted rehoming him twice in the past but with both times it wasn't a great situation for him. We do not (and will not) send him to a home that we feel is unfit. Both my wife and kids have grown to love him and recognize that the life he has with us is not his best. Ideally, he would be adopted by someone who has the time to work on social training and spend lots of one-on-one time with him. Buck is a healthy, beautiful, loving and playful boy and we hope to find him the perfect match. If you feel that Buck may be a good fit, please reach out for more details. Thanks, Joseph
