About Max

Max arrived to New York on July 15, 2019, from a shelter in Azerbaijan (former Soviet Union). He was subject to years of neglect until his rescue by the Good World Shelter in 2018. Max is about 4 YRS old. Max is neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, and per our vet here in the US, Max is healthy. Max is also a hero! While protecting a shelter volunteer from an aggressive dog, he suffered an injury resulting in permanent blindness in one eye. Max is super smart, highly trainable, and great with people of all sizes. In fact, he adores humans. Because of his love for people, Max must be the only dog in the house or share the home with a very submissive canine companion. Lastly, Max does have a minor case of hip dysplasia. A vet here in the US figures its genetic, but we assume its from the lack of exercise and movement he endured before his rescue. Nevertheless, this is a non- issue for Max. In fact, Max enjoys a light five-minute jog morning and night before his walks. I flew Max here this summer along with 15 other dogs as part of a rescue mission. Because of his charming personality and intelligence, we decided to adopt him. But our home comes with 3 not very submissive dogs, and its become apparent its not an ideal situation for Max. For the right home, Max is exceptional. Whoever ends up adopting him will be truly lucky to have such an amazing dog.
