About Dexter

Dexter is available for foster or adoption. He's currently being fostered in Sarasota, FL (Sarasota County). Dexter is a pug mix, 3-5 years old, and 25 pounds. If you're looking for a buddy who loves to play, go for hikes, moderate walks or jogs, this dude could be your man! In his foster home he most enjoys joining the family on regular outings and snuggling - oh yes, he is the best snuggler with both dogs and people! Dexter gets along great with dogs and cats, and would be fine with older, considerate kids. He is crate trained, house trained, neutered and up-to-date on all vaccines. Dexter will need to be fed separately from other dogs, which is easy to do by simply feeding him in a crate, which should be used anyway while he settles into a new home. He is highly food-motivated and easy to train. He is balanced around new people and dogs out in public, too! We are a foster-based rescue organization with foster homes throughout the state of Florida. We predominantly save dogs from municipal shelters throughout the Southeastern U.S. Our rescue dogs live in foster homes - there is no central facility.
