About Lady Bunny

Adoption Fee: $395
Australian Shepherd
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

[Read About Natural Seizure Care] Lady Bunny is a female double merle Australian Shepherd located in Fayetteville, NC. She is around 9 months of age and is expected to be somewhere between 30-40 lbs when full grown. As a result of being a double merle Lady Bunny is completely deaf, blind in the left eye but does have some vision on the right. It's very important to remember that she was born this way so she doesn't realize she's any different and it certainly doesn't slow her down at all. Lady Bunny does also have a seizure disorder. She is on medication to control and prevent the seizures from reoccurring and has not had any adverse side effects from them. LB is a rather strong willed girl, very smart and high energy! She is very treat motivated which has made training a lot easier! So far she is doing fantastic with the hand signals for sit, down, stand, come, stay and spin. She walks well on leash too. She is fully crate and house trained. Lady Bunny would do best with someone that is willing/able to continue her training. Aussies are a very smart breed and love to learn. Lacking some vision from one eye and hearing doesn't change that. Training is also a great bonding tool! She absolutely loves playing with other dog's and would do great with another doggie companion. She is not good with cats. It would be best for any potential doggie friends to have a more playful/high energy personality because we feel Lady Bunny would be rather overwhelming for an older more laid back dog. She loves her people and is very attentive, meaning she checks in frequently without being reminded. She stays too busy to be a cuddler though. We are recommending she go to a home without small children due to the fact that when she gets overly excited, she can bite down a little too hard. Not aggressively at all but it does pinch. Being an energetic young puppy at times she still finds it difficult to keep all 4 paws on the floor when greeting people. Lady Bunny isn't a fan of sharing her food or high value treats with doggie friends. We have been working on this behavior and she has made great progress so it's very manageable. Foster mom can fill you in on what we have been doing to work on the issue. Lady Bunny is spayed, up to date on all vaccinations, current on heart worm/flea tick prevention and she is also microchipped. We are requiring a meet and greet prior to adoption. This is just to help ensure we get the best match possible for Lady Bunny as well as the potential adopter. With her high energy level and love for playing with other dog's, we feel any existing dog's will need to meet her as well to make sure they don't feel overwhelmed by her high energy playful self.
