Hello new friends! I'm Brody and I'm 9 years old. I'm trying to learn all these words like heel, sit, leave it and come. My people assure me that I will eventually understand because you really can teach an old dog new tricks and they are giving me all the time I need. I'm getting along with the other dogs here. Female dogs are fine and my foster Mom says I will like the male dogs better since the vet ladies came last week and now I'm something called 'neutered'. I do need slow introductions to new dogs because I was only around my mate. I would love a family that has lots of patience so I can keep learning new things. I'm told that I'm very curious. There are lots of trees, ferns and trails in my yard and I like to explore every inch and hide from my Mom. Sometimes she has to come find me and she shakes her head and says I need to work on my 'recall' - whatever that is! I like people and am learning that it's nice to lean on someone and get my ears and belly scratched. I wasn't too thrilled with my first bath but everyone said I smelled great so I guess I'd do it again. I'm not a fan of having my nails clipped, although perhaps lot of treats and love may help with that. I am told I'm a vocal boy, but that is only because I just love being with my people and am not excited about being left alone From foster Mom: For a senior dog, Brody has quite a bit of energy. He has started to play with a couple toys but he's pretty much a clean slate when it comes to life experiences. He is very people friendly including older kids (simply because he's a big boy who doesn't have much sense of personal space). He wants to please and his personality is starting to come out. Brody is very vocal dog and will let you know when it is 1 minute past mealtime but he forgives you quickly! He needs a family who is patient and will be committed to his training to help him grow into a happy, comfortable Boxer.
