LONELY, ABANDONED 'BACKYARD' PITTY NEEDS SAVED. Hi, my name is SIMBA - ID#A4275267. I am a neutered male, chocolate American Pit Bull Terrier mix. The shelter staff think I am about 8 years old, and I have been at the shelter since Aug 11, 2019. I had Simba out today and he is very sweet and affectionate all he wants is love and to be with you. He is so sweet and just wants love. I usually love taking pictures of the shelter dogs and sharing their adorable faces with the world, but taking pictures of Simba honestly just made me sad. Simba didn't know what to in front of the camera, like no one had ever taken a picture of him before. He barely even raised his head to look at me. When I tried to encourage him by saying, 'You're so cute' and 'You're such a good boy', he just blankly stared at me like he has never heard those words before. Simba was surrendered to the shelter at the age of 8 years old because his owners stated they were moving to a new home with no yard. His owner admitted that Simba was a 'backyard dog' and since they were moving to a place with no yard they couldn't bring him with them. 8 years of living in a backyard. No wonder attention and words of endearment were so foreign to him. I hate knowing that the majority of Simba's life has been so unfulfilled but I want to make sure that his remaining years are spent indoors in a loving home.
