About Bolt

Bolt is the sweetest kid in town, and named after his doppelganger, Disney's Bolt! He warmed up to his new foster family almost instantly. He's a good sleeper, but is up for play whenever you are! He loves toys, bones, etc. He doesn't understand the concept of fetch (he was a little scared when an object was being thrown, as it seems foreign to him), but he enjoys just playing around with his new fun activities. All in good time! He has been so gentle with his new human foster parents and their toddler (who can be very loud and a bit of a stalker). Bolt has responded by either moving out of the way or providing kisses. He would do well in a home with another pup who can show him the ropes; Bolt likes to follow along. He seems to be fine with cats as well. He would benefit from an owner who would like to continue his training, as he is very smart, capable of learning new commands, and continued training would help him align with his new family. He has almost mastered the command 'sit', after only a few days. He is treat motivated, and takes treats very nicely. Bolt is housebroken, is amazing on a leash, and loves a good quick walk. He is curious about the little squirrel creatures but never tries to go after them. He will bark a little when he is excited about a toy or treat. When in his crate for bed, he whimpers with a slight cry for a short period of time, but then is quiet till morning when he gets his walk. He has decent energy levels, for those who would like a little extra exercise and prolonged ventures outdoors. Inside the house, Bolt is very well-behaved. He is enjoying the good life these days; he loves sleeping on wood floors and doesn't expect the finer things, but seems very appreciative. Quick Facts: Hound Mix, 38 pounds, 2 years old, Male Will is neutered, microchipped and received his rabies 2019 Medium energy level; is able to relax and chill but always up for playing when dog or human friend is ready to go Temperament: Extremely sweet and friendly once he gets to spend a little time with you. Loves giving some kisses and wants to please. Really quick to learn new rules and doing really well adjusting to a home with a toddler and another dog. No issues with kids; keeps a distance during tantrums and checked to see if the baby was okay when crying after falling. Kisses for all humans Good with cats - he was tested at the shelter and has no aggression towards cats. Wagged his tail and was generally disinterested when presented with cats. Good with other dogs - Bolt loves our dog and loves to play. He has displayed some protective action and guarding food but not 100% of the time and is getting better about it as he realizes he doesn't have to worry about that anymore!
