About Autumn

Local adoptions only--within a 50 mile radius of Quail Valley/Menifee, southwest Riverside County. Please note: L.A. and Orange Counties are out of area due to traffic/drive time. Miss Autumn is gorgeous and people want to adopt her because of her looks, but she is undersocialized with humans. She is sweet and gentle, but shy and wants to hide. Autumn is looking for that special someone who wants to adopt a rescued animal and accept it for who it is. Autumn needs a guardian who understands this, has experience with cats like this, knows what to expect and has the time and patience to give Autumn to become comfortable, confident and trusting in her new home and not feel the need to hide all the time. Autumn loves to play and is okay with other cats, but does not interact with them. Autumn needs a quiet home with no small kids. We are looking for loving indoor homes for all of our cats and kittens. Being a rescued cat and not having the socialization needed early in life, she needs someone who understands this and is patient with her, as well as has the time to spend lots of time with her, giving her lots of attention, playing with her, to give her the time she needs to become comfortable and trusting and not want to hide. This will take time--maybe months. Keep in mind she is not going to come up to you right away. After she gets to know and trust you and feels safe in her environment, she will come up to you for pets and to rub up against you. Are you that special someone who wants to open their heart and their home to this rescued cat? Autumn is healthy and has been spayed, vaccinated, dewormed and is negative for FeLV/FIV. Autumn's estimated date of birth is 9/20/18. She has a beautiful soft medium to long coat with a long-hair bushy tail and weighs about 7.5 pounds. Her pretty eyes are green. Most cats/kittens are scared going to a new home with new people, but they all blossom in their own home. Living in a rescue environment is not the same as living in their own home where they receive the individual attention they need and deserve. They need someone to spend time with them, give them one-on-one attention and play with them every day. Therefore, we are looking for adopters who want to give a rescued animal a chance at their own home and will be patient and understanding in giving the cat time to settle in, get comfortable in their new environment and learn to trust you. We never know how long it will take for them to become comfortable in their new home because all cats are different, some cats walk in and make themselves right at home, sometimes it takes 2-3 days and sometimes weeks. We are looking for loving indoor homes for all of our cats and kittens. $25 adoption fee, cash only, which is to help reimburse for a portion of expenses of cat rescue and rehabilitation. Our adoption process involves meeting by appointment. We have the best interest of the animal in mind and our goal is to find a good, permanent home for each of our rescued animals. Therefore, we have the right to decline an application if we feel it is not a good match/fit or suitable home. After meeting the animal, if you want to adopt the animal and we both feel it is a good match, an application and adoption contract are completed. A convenient day/time is arranged for us to deliver the animal to its new home to do a home check (to make sure the home is safe and secure). We will give you copies of the animal's vet records including proof of spay/neuter and vaccinations and collect the adoption fee (cash only) when we deliver the animal to its new home. All our adoptions are on a trial basis because our goal is to have a successful adoption where the animal has a good permanent home for its lifetime and never ends up in a bad situation again. We ask that you give the animal a chance to adjust and settle in his new home and environment. Going to a new home with new people and a new environment is traumatic and stressful. It will take time for the animal to become comfortable around you and his/her new home. This should be a bonding period where you get to know the animal and connect with it, spend time with it and take things slow. He/she will need to get to know and trust you and learn the rules of the house and what is expected of him/her. This takes time, sometimes 2-3 weeks or more.
