LOOKING FOR FOSTER FAMILY OR FOREVER HOME Chappy is a knock-out handsome 73 pound German Shepherd! He enjoys a structured routine, a large securely fenced backyard, other dogs to play with and loving people who responsibly take care of him. He's 'cat curious', not aggressive (would need supervision with felines). Chappy would enjoy dog-knowledgeable kids (11 and older). Due to backyard breeding, Chappy has struggled with some symptoms of hip dysphasia at the young age of one year. Second Chance Dogs is scheduling a surgical consult with Dr. Maki. We are looking for someone who loves this breed and will give Chappy a loving home before and for a few months after his surgery. This is a costly vet bill, but the SCD board of directors knows Chappy has a wonderful life ahead of him. He touches everyone's heart. Chappy needs a new place to live in November 2019. His current foster family (who loves him dearly) are more than happy to talk with interested parties. Chappy takes a little bit of time to trust new people. He came from a neglectful home, was kept outside 24/7. He's learning that adventures such as getting into a vehicle, seeing a groomer and/or veterinarian can be okay. THIS IS A DOG WHO WANTS TO GIVE HIS TRUST AND LOVE! A meet and greet will convince the right dog-lover that Chappy needs them, as well as they need Chappy. Please contact [email protected] for additional info and/or the opportunity to meet this family dog. FOSTERING requires the heart and time. Required vet care, food and supplies will be covered by Second Chance Dogs. Please help network Chappy. If you are comfortable posting him on your FB page, together we'll find the right match!
