About Donovan

Donovan was running the streets here when we took him in. He has been fully vetted and is on monthly heartworm and flea meds. He weighs less than 13 pounds and stands about 12 inches at his shoulder. He is a light boned, medium energy Miniature Pinscher. Donovan is barely out of puppyhood. We're guessing he is less than 14 months old. He would thrive best in a home that includes daily walks and lots of playtime with another playful dog. Donovan is fully housetrained, crate trained, handles having his nails dremeled from the grooming table. He still needs work on leash training but walks behind my walker very well. He still needs work on bathing. He likes being brushed. Donovan is learning basic commands well. He is very playful. He likes playing fetch for a little while. LOVES chew toys, squeakies and stuffed toys. Donovan is currently living with a couple of other small dogs. He loves to play with with them and take naps in a dog pile. He will yodel and talk to them during play. Having another dog would be ideal in his forever home. Donovan has not been tested to cats or children yet. Donovan puts himself to bed every night around 7:15 pm and is awake 12 hours later. He uses a doggy door at his foster home. He will also eat paper and other things. so you must puppy proof. No shoes, but TP, styrofoam plates, newspapers, yes. Coming from the streets Donovan is afraid to walk into the garage and get close to the car. Once he jumps in the car he enjoys riding, his dog friends help him to relax on car rides. No doubt, there will be other firsts he will come across in his forever home. Having treats will go a long way with this highly food motivated dog. Having a calm experience dog friend will help as well. There are 10 videos of Donovan here.
