About Xander

Meet Xander! Updated 11.7.19. He's currently in a wonderful foster home where we've had the opportunity to evaluate and learn more about him and he's Now Ready for Adoption. This good-looking fella is looking for a new home. He has been able to get a taste of living on acreage, experience wildlife and make some new friends. His foster Dad has helped him work through some of his shyness with people and says he's a dog with great potential, wicked smart! He's a fast learner, extremely affectionate and is motivated by touch and interaction vs. food. Xander is a 3-year-old neutered male Rottweiler. He has lived a bit of a sheltered life, so he can be a little reserved with new people, but once he gets to know you his favorite thing is belly rubs! He will benefit from more training and socialization and is looking for a home with someone who can work with him to give him confidence so he becomes the best he can be. He's a sweet boy with a lot to offer. He's lived with older children (age 10 and up) and is house trained and crate trained. After being in foster care we know he requires lots of attention and interaction and he'd benefit by being in a home where he's left alone minimally. He's been under socialized with dogs and it will take careful introduction, we think with an experienced owner he may do well with dogs in the home. Xander has not lived with cats and if given the opportunity he will chase them in his yard (squirrels too!). Xander is located about 30 mins outside of the Portland area. His adoption fee is $200.
