He is confirmed neutered. He was originally reported to be HW positive but was tested again today, 8/15/19 and he is HW negative. If Hickory has any vision at all, it is thought that he might only see some shadows. It is also believed that Hickory has a hearing impairment, as well. Rescue Info: Hickory was pulled from a shelter just a few days ago. He went to a foster home where the foster integrated too quickly, against instructions, and Hickory was sniffing a cat, grabbed it and killed it. Hickory is now being boarded after being in a shelter for 4 months. Hickory should not be placed in a home with cats or small dogs or other small animals. Rescue also does not recommend that he be in a home with young children. Hickory is very sweet with adults and teenagers. He is microchipped and shelter records show that he tried to bite the needle while he was being microchipped. It is not known if Hickory is house broken or leash trained (he wasn't in the foster home long enough to find out). He does not seem to be possessive with treats or food. The rescue wants the very best home for Hickory, ideally they will have experience with Pit Bulls, seniors and visual impairments. **Owner Surrender Disclaimer: These are blind and visually impaired dogs who are living in homes, but their owners can no longer keep them.
