About Skip

Shih Tzu / Silky Terrier
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Skip is about 5 years old and had been a stray prior to coming in to rescue. I wish he could talk and tell us his story because what we saw that first day was neglected mess. He was such a mess we believe he'd been kept as an outside only dog. Most of his hair was missing due to infections secondary to fleas. He was coughing, underweight and his teeth were in dire need of a good cleaning. He was miserable, in pain and growled most of the first couple days. If there was ever a dog that needed rescue it was Skip. We got him to our vet and took care of any medical needs, put him on high quality food and just let him relax. Slowly but surely a little love bug emerged. After a full two weeks Skip started playing with toys. Now, Skip is ready for a forever home. Skip's new home should be quiet and laid back. He really only needs one person After he's growled at you for a couple days, you'll be the love of his life. He'll be totally disinterested in other people. A fenced yard is required and not an elec fence. He wouldn't do well in a busy, bustling home with kids. He'll get very attached to his new owner like he is to me. He's good around other dogs. He ignores cats. Skip is house-trained, loves his food, treats, going for walks and snuggling on the couch while you watch tv. He's heartworm negative and on preventative. All vaccines are up to date. He's gained a little weight so isn't looking so bony any more and his fur is coming back nicely. Skip's coloring is gray, white with some brown. His tail curls up over his back. If you're interested in adopting Skip, email:
