About Fred & Kooks

Adoption Fee: $10
Siamese / Domestic Cat
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

This is a bonded pair: Fred & Kooks. Both are spayed/neutered; all shots up to date; and chipped. Fred has had a lot of anxiety issues for the past 7 years due to a dog attack at 8 months old, which resulted in 6 inches of his intestines being removed. As such, he eats a grain-free diet (Blue Buffalo Wilderness High Protein Grain Free, Natural Adult Indoor Hairball Control). Also, it became necessary to remove his front claws due to aggression - symptomatic of PTSD. Once he gets comfortable with you, he will love playing with shoelaces, rattling things, fabric grocery bags, and being massaged behind his ear. This will illicit a very loud purr. It will be short-lived - until it's not. He will require patience. Kooks will start off nervous and shy, but she is SUPER affectionate and LOVES playing with 'puffy balls.' She will chase them for hours. Also, Kooks is a very vocal cat and loves to have a good conversation with you. She thrives on human connection and attention. Because of her affectionate nature, her presence really brings a sense of stability to Fred and has for the past 5 years. She has become his emotional support. And because she still has her claws, Kooks will let Fred know if he's playing too hard. She keeps him in check and helps him feel safe, so they really need to stay together. Kooks is a rescue. She came with a feline herpes diagnosis and a foggy eye due to unchecked conjunctivitis - a symptom of feline herpes. She takes a lysine supplement - along with Fred, just in case. They are currently in a foster situation. My in-laws do not want them in their house anymore, and my sister has agreed to let me foster them in her basement (short-term) until I find them a home. I am responsible for the feeding, attention, 'outside time,' and cleaning. This requires multiple visits throughout the day. The living situation is comfortable for them (much better than a shelter), but it is not ideal. They would do better with more space and human interaction. I'd like to find someone local as I think it wise to help with the transition. I WILL NOT tolerate B-Dealers or 'Bunchers.' IT'S AGAINST FEDERAL LAW. Thank for your interest. I look forward to meeting you.
