About Connor

Adoption Fee: $250
Cocker Spaniel mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

From the foster: Connor is a 2 1/2 year old Spaniel mix. He was originally fostered by myself in September 2019 and got adopted in late September. The people adopting him were informed that he did have separation anxiety but we were assured they were home 'all the time' so that wouldn't be an issue. Well it became an issue and the people who had him had their vet put him on anti-anxiety medication which it appears they abused as he completed a 90 day round of the pills in 30 days. He was returned to us on 12/4/19 and was so dang drugged he couldn't hardly walk. He has been back in my care since he was returned and we have weaned him off of the drugs. He is back to being his normal obnoxious and loving self and wanting attention 100% of the time. He has to be adopted into a home where there is another dog - he does well being home during the day with another dog to keep him company. He is a pain when you get home as he wants you to immediately stop and pet him. He gets pushy about it and is right under foot until you stop and give him some attention. I have discovered it takes 3 times of moving him away from you in the evening to get him to stop pawing you for attention. He gives up and goes and lays down and pouts. He is 100% housebroken. He is a lousy eater - he doesn't want to eat anything good for him and thinks 'junk' food is the best. He will eventually give up and eat the food that is supplied but you have to have more will power than he does to force it. He is great with kids. He also does well with our cat. When he wants something you have he dances on his rear legs. It is cute but he is starting to figure out that it doesn't always work when it is things he can't have. His next home will be very closely screened to make sure they understand his needy behavior completely and have the patience to live with it without resorting to drugging him. We will also require a meet and greet with him and other any other dog in the home. If interested in Connor, please go to our website at www.patriotsforpets.com and fill out an application. His foster home will meet with prospective adopters to completely go through his quirks (both good and bad).
