About Walker

Australian Cattle Dog
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Male

This little guy is Walker, a 2 year old, 40lb, cattle dog. He's still in puppy mode, very sweet, bundle of energy, always ready to go! When he does settle down, he absolutely thrives on cuddles and wants to be as close to his human as physically possible. If you sit down, he will wiggle his way into your lap and if you move around, he is your shadow. Walker was found in pretty rough neighborhood where he had been wandering for over a month. While he didn't have a lot of experience of living in a house at the time of his rescue, he has thrived and now is the perfect house dog, he is house trained and loves his crate. He had zero leash experience and, while he is now doing pretty good on the leash walking in quiet parks and very low traffic places, his time on the streets has caused him to have a strong fear of cars, people on bikes, people on skateboards, etc. He is getting much better, and has gained a lot of confidence, but he still gets scared. Walker would do best with someone that likes to exercise and that will be able to work with him on his leash skills. Walker gets along well with other dogs that are non-confrontational, and he really enjoys playing chase and hanging out with them. He tends to chase cats, so no cats in the home. He also tends to chase anything, so no young children, dog savvy older children would be fine. If you really like the cattle dog breed and are looking for a constant companion to hangout with, Walker is your guy! Walker is being fostered in Huntington Beach.
