About Ferguson

Hi, my name is Ferguson. I'm a 2.5 year-old, 13-pound rat terrier crossed with another small breed, maybe a chihuahua. What I lack in size I make up for in bear hugs. I like to put one paw on each side of your head and come in for some lovin'. I live with my foster Mom and two dog brothers and two cat brothers. I play a lot with my young dog brother and clash a bit with the older chihuahua here - we both want to be in charge! But I do fine with most smaller dogs, especially if they are playful. A FENCED YARD IS REQUIRED at my new home. I have a strong chase instinct plus I need to be able to run about with all my good energy. I also love going out for a walk on the leash. I'd be a great agility dog or hiking partner. I'm not timid and do well with men and women. I have been known to get protective of my family and a bit annoyed around children, so I NEED A FOREVER HOME WITH ADULTS ONLY, or at least older teen age children. I'm also good with traveling in the car and I'm mostly potty trained - just an accident here and there. Plus I'm not a picky eater. I'd do well in either a cat free home, or at least your cat should not be bothered about little dogs wanting to chase them, like the two cats I live with - they ignore me now! I've been neutered and brought up to date on all my shots, and micro-chipped. I've also tested negative for heartworm and other parasites. I'm not super excited about going in the crate - I do protest. However, I do love curling up beside my foster Mom for a snooze. My foster Mom wanted me to add that I'm just all-around super and whoever adopts me is going to be very lucky, indeed! Aw, shucks.
